arid

ar•id ('a-rəd)

  1. Lacking moisture, especially having insufficient rainfall to support trees or woody plants
  2. lacking in interest and life; lifeless and dull

Why the name "arid"? The answer is not exciting: it was one of the few short English words that were still available in the .us domain hierarchy when this domain was purchased.

Arid is, as the name suggests, a very dry place. There is really nothing interesting to see, nor any real good reason to browse around the site. If you are looking for interesting content, we would suggest visiting Google, entering any random word, and hitting the I'm Feeling Lucky button.

But, if you insist on browsing around, you might consider visiting the Companies with Bad Customer Service section. Or, you might want to read all about Joel Silverman and the evil Indiana BMV. If you want something a little more light-hearted, then perhaps try the 2012 Countdown clock, INS, Freeload, Dice ad, Neumont ad, Mad Cow, or Java Tractor pages.
